From a very early age, Roy developed a love for the piano, playing and teaching privately through high school in Montana. During his junior and senior years, an opportunity for piano tuning and rebuilding arose after acquiring a number of older instruments and bringing them back into playable condition and stable tune. Coming to Tennessee in 2004, Roy earned a degree in Music Education from Bryan College, maintaining the campus instruments and adding area clientele. Joining Barger & Nix Organs as a pipe organ tuner/technician in 2011, Roy has continued to refine woodworking and technical skills in addition to growing relationships with musicians throughout East TN and North GA, tuning pianos in homes, churches, and schools. He also serves as the Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.
Roy has excelled as a pianist, accompanist, teacher, and craftsman. With a passion for creating quality experiences in music for those of all ages and skill levels, he provides services to restore the joy of operational and well tuned instruments.
